My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. While the location was fantastic, right by the sea and with convenient access to shops, the room ended up being different from what I expected and had some noise issues. The service, although friendly and helpful, felt a bit lackluster at times. The dining experience left something to be desired with limited options and delays. Despite these drawbacks, the views of the sea were stunning and the nearby amenities were a bonus.

Rooms
6.0
The room I got turned out to be different from what I thought I booked, and it had some noise disturbances from the nearby construction and kitchen extractor fans. The roof spars in the room were a bit inconvenient. Not exactly what I had expected.
Service
7.0
The staff, although friendly and willing to help, didn't seem to be putting in maximum effort for their pay. They never made me feel rushed, but there were moments when the service could have been more attentive.
Location
9.0
The location was a strong point of this hotel, with easy access to the town center, the harbor, and local amenities. The views of the sea and islands were excellent, and the proximity to pubs and restaurants made it very convenient.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was average at best. The breakfast options were limited, and there were delays in getting certain items replenished. The overall service in the dining area could have been more efficient.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were decent overall, but there were some issues in the dining area with empty platters and delays in service. More attention to detail and promptness could enhance the dining experience.

The hotel's rooms were small and not as clean as expected, overlooking a noisy street where local youths gathered late at night. On the upside, fresh towels appeared promptly when requested. The service was hit-or-miss, with some staff being polite and helpful while others displayed poor customer skills. The location was convenient, right in the town center though lacking views. The dining experience was subpar, with breakfast options not up to standard. Overall, a mixed experience with some noticeable shortcomings.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, although a bit doggy-smelling initially, were large, warm, and offered a good view of the harbor and sea. However, the lack of proper ventilation made them too hot at times. The service was a bit inconsistent, with staff being both friendly and professional yet sometimes coming across as treating me like I was clueless. The location was excellent for accessing boat trips to the Farne Islands but had some issues with room temperature. The dining experience was a bit disappointing, with limited breakfast options and early closure times. Despite these drawbacks, the facilities met my basic needs well.

5.0/10

The hotel had a few drawbacks, such as dated and small rooms not worth the price, along with a foul smell in the bathroom upon entering. However, the sea views while standing were lovely. The narrow stairs made it challenging to move luggage around, and the lack of reception help was noticeable.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were dated and small, not matching the price paid. The bathroom emitted a dreadful stench upon entry, and the tiny washbasin was inconvenient. The sea views while standing were a pleasant touch.
Service
5.0
The service was lacking overall, with no time for hotel guests, particularly during peak times. Housekeeping was subpar, and there was no welcome drink provided.
Location
6.0
The hotel's location was somewhat redeemed by its proximity to boat trips and easy access to Bamburgh and coastal villages. It served well for visiting attractions in the area but appeared to be solely in business due to limited competition.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was substandard, especially with late replenishment of the buffet and limited breakfast options available only after 9.15 am. Guests often had to request more plates and utensils.

poor service
